EVA Associate Conference Minister
Rev. Rob Edwards
Rev. Rob Edwards serves as Associate Conference Minister for the Eastern Virginia Association and Pastor of Bayside Christian Church UCC in Virginia Beach. He has pastored since 2015 and previously served churches in Tennessee and Kentucky before relocating to Virginia in 1997.
He holds a BA in Communication from Carson-Newman University and an M.Div. in Christian Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has pursued further theological and trauma-related studies at Regent University, the Centre for Healing in Australia, and the Global Center for Religious Research.
Rev. Edwards has served in key UCC leadership roles, including President of the Eastern Virginia Association, Chair of the Church and Ministry Commission, and Delegate and Committee Chair for UCC General Synod 34. He is part of the UCC Disaster Ministries Emotional and Spiritual Care Team.
A U.S. Air Force Chaplain veteran, he has earned numerous commendations for his service. He is also a certified Trauma-Informed Coach and actively involved in interfaith and civic groups.
He is married to Catherine Edwards, and together they enjoy spending time with their two grown children, pets, and their grand dog. He enjoys cooking, photography, reading, and planning to play golf.
The Tidewater/Hampton Roads Region of Virginia — from Petersburg to Virginia Beach to the state line — has borne witness to some of the most important moments in American history. Today, the area is home to a large US Navy presence, bases representing every branch of military service, and 40 UCC congregations. We want churches to send in their special programming dates to their Association so that it can be added to the Association and Conference Calendar.
