Whether you are new to grassroots advocacy or have been engaged in this critical work for some time, our Legislative Seminar offers the opportunity to hear updates on issues being discussed at the General Assembly. 17 workshops will be offered across three workshop sessions on a variety of topics such as gun violence, healthcare, voter ID, immigration, and gerrymandering. The following two workshops focus on education: 

 Pulse Check on Public Education: NC Association of Educators A year after teachers flexed political muscles, how are their pay and working conditions improving? Update on schools' performance amid a legislative push for more parental choice. Rich vs poor districts; trends toward resegregation 

Higher Education Under Stress: Higher Education Works UNC system is at a crossroads with regard to governance and mission. Is one of the state's principal assets at risk?
