Rev. Otis Moss III to speak at FCUCC in Hendersonville

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - The annual Walter E. Ashley Memorial Lecture Series hosted by First Congregational Church returns June 8 and 9 with the Rev. Otis Moss III (Ph.D.),  a United Church of Christ minister, author, speaker and activist. The weekend begins on Friday, June 8, at 7:00 pm  and continues on Saturday, June 9, 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. A noon lunch is available. Prices are $25 for each lecture and/or $75 for all three lectures plus Saturday lunch.

Rev. Moss is part of a new generation of ministers committed to preaching a prophetic message of love and justice, which he believes are inseparable companions that form the foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As Senior Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, IL, Rev. Moss has spent the last two decades practicing and preaching a theology that unapologetically calls attention to the problems of mass incarceration, environmental injustice, and economic inequality.
